History
The first Apple Wireless Keyboard was introduced in 2007 alongside the aluminum keyboard lineup. It featured a compact design without a numeric keypad, making it more portable. This keyboard used Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR for wireless connectivity and required 2 AA batteries.
Despite its wireless nature, it maintained the same scissor-switch mechanism as the wired version. The keyboard was popular for its clean design and wireless convenience, though some users missed the numeric keypad. It was discontinued in 2011 with the introduction of the redesigned wireless keyboard.
